Hey Skippy - its 54 - not 55!!!!! and anyway my speed camera detector has a real speed readout - and 54 on the clock is about a true 50!!!

That's my story officer, and I'm sticking to it.

tell you what though, the M20, M25 M23 were bloody boring at that speed!!!

Hi Jono,

Yes - sorry, I looked at your pic again, and I confess that it does read 54mph! As you say - true mph probably about 50! What I meant to say of course, yes - yours must be the record so far for mpg. My current car (Mazda RX-8), it is a miracle if you get more than 25mpg. On that forum we have a section to report if you get 300 miles or more out of its 13.5 gallon tank! A rare event indeed!

Maybe when I get mine, I will stick in in 6th and drive 35mph down the motorway and see what I get

42.8 is the best I have seen, 40 mile trip quite slow on the motorway in rush hour.

However with the cruise control set last night on the way back from Ultimate Dubs I was getting mpg in the 30's. I can't remember the exact figure but think it was 33ish. And I was definately not sticking to 70mph ;)

Coming from a Golf VR6 though even 220 miles from a tank is a bonus!

Actually I tend to think that I get better mpg WITOUT the cruis rather than with it. No quantitative evidence, but a gut feel based on about 3 months and 5000 miles.... any views?
