They're definitely trying to mug you, nothing needs to be sprayed.
But just so you know, the black part below the indicator lens is part of the indicator assembly, you can't separate the lens from it.

Re: Smashed wing mirror :(
That's to buy from VW, but, in all honesty, it's a while since I bought mine and I've forgotten how much everything costs, so it could be more, but is probably less. This is a kind of a quick rough guide to doing the mirrors. - Remove the mirror, Carefully lever out with a flat bladed trim removal t...

Re: Smashed wing mirror :(
It's a very easy job to assemble and disassemble the scirocco wing mirrors & I'm sure there is a guide floating around the internet somewhere.
I think the part you require, which is the whole of the lower front part of the wing mirror is no more than £30 to buy.

Re: Pewter Grey 2.0 GT - New wheels....
It's been ages since I added to this thread. But, this is quite possibly the last picture of this Scirocco before it's traded in for another new(ish) Scirocco this coming saturday.

Re: Standard
To what extent did you have to tell your insurance? i declare absolutely everyone down to fitting a couple of OEM badges, I have just declared every mod to be done to my car in the next few months As above, everything except badges, the tinting film I used on my indicators and the fact I removed my...

I've not had many try it on with me, I think my car looks faster than it is haha.
I did have a play with a focus RS one day and didn't lose as much ground as I expected.

Re: Standard
Mine's on PCP, I've doen a fair few mods to it, all reversible and all declared on the insurance. I'm just coming up to trade in now, the salesman said as long as it goes back to standard he's happy. He's also allowing me to swap the wheels off the new one onto mine seeing as I had to sell my interl...

Re: Boy Racers
If its a young lad in a small engined car, it's probably them just wanting you to show off because they like your car. I tend to do it with super cars etc, you can't beat hearing or seeing one get used in anger lol. The other theory though is that it's something that's been played with. You'd be sur...

Re: What engine would you have?
Even my 2l Tsi is too diesel like in power delivery. FYI I drive 15miles or so a day mainly in light town traffic and I average about 31mpg. You're right there, I came from a 16v Mk3 GTi and granted it was only a bit over 150bhp, so nowhere near as fast, it had such a linear power delivery. It'd pu...

Re: What engine would you have?
^^^^
I do pretty much the same sort of mileage as you and I don't think I'd trade my 2.0 TSi in for a diesel any time soon. I'm 30, don't really fancy being boring yet.
My engine of choice (money no object) would be the 5 pot out of a TT-RS.

Re: Scotts Rocco Brief :) Update: Bodywork pics.
emm, the badge recesses weren't welded, just filled. Tbh, they are not very deep. I hope they last, but every time I've known somebody smooth recesses with filler, they've cracked within the first few months. I can only commend you on the progress you've made on the car, it's coming on well. You de...

Did you weld up the badge recesses or just sling a load of filler in there?

Re: Scirocco Facelift 2013 - your ideas please..
I'd like there to be the same range of seat adjustablity as in a Golf, I can get the seat in a Golf quite a lot lower than a Scirocco. I'd love another Scirocco (funds pending), but the fact I could be more comfortable in a Golf GTi means I'd be tempted to go for one of those next even if I still pr...
