viper green was the only colour I wanted..the missus took a bit of persuading though...and yes I know it is the TDI...but I honestly preferred it over the TSI when I test drove both...perhaps because many moons ago I learned in a diesel.

or because I felt the TSI seemed a little brash...dunno but when it arrives I shall be driving the most bonkers sensible motor I could find :)

So you made up for it by buying the most brash colour available.....Not wanting to appear rude, but surely it is you that is the bonkers sensible one, not the car??

After seeing few viper greens at my local dealers I started to warm to the idea. However my missus was less than enamoured with it.
Nearly got a red one from stock but somehow the Salsa red isn't a proper "hot" red. While I was still hummming & ahhhring over the red one at the dealers a metallic bright red Audi came past and that make my mind up. That's how a proper red should look.
So I'm waiting 3 months for a Candy white.

WHITE - If it wasn't for the fact that VW has a fetish for black plastic...

BLACK - Because they do have a fetish for black plastic and at least it blends in.

Not so much sheep (or lemmings for that matter) more a question of making the most of an unexciting selection of colours to choose from. Yes there is Viper Green which does look "Wow" but I'm not sure I could live with that every day for 3 years :shake: But not much else you could describe as wild.

This is just my personal opinion and nto designed to upset anyone. Each to their own and all that, but here's my take on the colours:

Black - Nice, blends all the rest of the black bits in the car. Bugger to keep clean and disguises some of the lines of the car which is a bad thing.
White - My current TT is white and it's a real head turner. White looks great day or night and really stands out. Minor problem is that it is a very popular colour on the Roc.
Viper Green - I just think it looks like a washed out snot green and wouldn't spec it in a million years.
Sumatra - Very nice especially with truffle leather but I haven't seen it in the flesh. From what i've seen can look a bit brown in some lights.
Opal Silver/Reflex/Pewter - Don't think the car suits it at all. In this colour I think the 'roc becomes very non-descript and looks like a lot of other bits of metal on the road. That goes for all silver/grey finishes
*EDIT* - I've changed my mind about Pewter after seeing one today. Looks very nice indeed in the flesh.
Rising Blue - Very nice indeed. Not sure why the didn't do a green version of this kind of hue instead of the viper.
Red - Think the car actually suits red very well and that if they had a red metallic available (such as firespark) rather than a flat red then it would be a more popular choice

I agree that the list paint colours not to mention other customisation options on the Roc are pretty poor. For example look at it's closest rival, the TT and you'll see that there are loads of paints, leather colours and alloys to choose from. I just don't understand why VW have limited the options so much.
