Just did my insurance through VW. £730 for full business use on a 2.0TSi with only £100 excess. Didn't expect it, only rang to get my free 7 days insurance and thought I may as well get a quote while I was on the phone.

Swift cover looked good until I actually starting adding in the things I would normally expect on a policy. Brentacre were cheaper (£690) but with a £500 excess, Chris Knott a bit more (£780).

How did we compare? (assuming you have us a try?)

I'm gutted I couldn't use Sky. But an admin error @ my current insurance that they have no rectified meant my no claims form would of been BS. Next year, I will be in a better position and my insurance should be well cheaper. Here's hoping for a good insurance year to all who have renewed (i.e. a safe one!)

My renewal quote has just come through the door at £521.

Using confused.com the same insurance company wants £800! I have double checked the details, correct on the renewal paperwork, just don't understand how they price car insurance as it usually works the other way round.

For the first time in about 8 years I stayed with the same insurance company. No matter who ,what ,why and where I tried I could not get cheaper -( trust me I'm tight!) I could not save any money. My premium had gone up by about £30. Other quotes where a lot higher
It seems some insurers have woken up to the fact that they need to keep their customers and not just presume you'll pay an inflated renewal withut searching around.

My insurance for a 2TDi GT BMT was about £410 - swift cover - the cheapest one I could find
Thats parked in a garage, does less than 10,000, 8 years no claims.

Enquired about the premium with and without a cobra tracker - exactly the same price!
