Be my guest, the last I heard was that it was sat outside getting poo'd on by seagulls, or scurries as we like to call them. :fall:

So the next email to the dealer will be to ask them why it's not parked in a nice warm corner of their showroom.

Later,
George

Fingers corssed mine should be arriving soon too, ;) was awaiting shipping last week.

I'm working offshore until the end of May, but will have the GF go pick it up for me and stick it in the Garage, so hopefully no bird sh1tes on it!

T minus '0' Days

That's me home again, hopefully until the middle of next month, and today's the 'BIG' day......maybe!
That's assuming my insurance cover note was posted in time, and VW managed to register the car yesterday.
My last 3 days at work were so incredibly hectic, I've only had 12hrs sleep in the past 3 days, so let's hope the Roc's seats aren't too comfy, or I may fall asleep at the wheel on the 15 mile drive home. So I'll be having Red Bull instead of milk with my corn flakes this morning! :faint:

I'll 'try' to re-post later today with my first impressions, but that depends on 2 things:
 Actually getting the car today. :hyper:
  Surgically removing my backside from it, long enough to write another post. ;)

P.S. I must remember to bring my camera and get some pictures before I drive it out of their showroom!

Later Folks!

Hi Andy-GTI,

Aye, I picked it up last night just after 6pm.
And to see it sitting in the showroom, gleaming after it's Autoglym LifeShine pampering, with my new personal plate fitted, it was almost too much for a man to take. :D I'm definitely going to have set aside some time to give my Reflex Silver R32 a damned good wax & polish, because it looks really dull sitting next to the shiny new Scirocco

You might have noticed that the Corrado had been broken into whilst parked round the back of the VW garage. Some dirty toe-rag has crow-barred the drivers door open and made off with the original fitted Sony stereo. Things must be pretty bad if local thieves are having to resort to stealing 15yr old sound systems! I would've happily given them the spare keys if only to stop them destroying the drivers door.

Later,

Hey Andy... you chuffed with how it looks in white? To date I've only seen a black one in the flesh, and did question whether i'd made the right decision ordering white!

Hi Andy-GTI,

Your Roc looks fantastic in Candy White. :wow:
I test drove their Candy White Demo a couple of months ago and I must confess to having 2nd thoughts about my Reflex Silver order! :?
I hope your next 2 weeks flies by really quickly, and you're sat behind the wheel as soon as you hit the beach!

I have since acquired my first double stone chip on the front spoiler/air dam.
Which is quite disappointing, because the car has hardly been away from my front door since I picked it up on Thursday!!!
But I suppose these things happen, and at least I've got that particular disappointment out of the way nice & early. It could've been a lot worse, the guilty party could've chipped the bonnet or windscreen. :fall:

Monaco GP today..WOO HOO!!!

Hi kpudgar,

Here's a few pictures I took this afternoon, after I'd given the Roc it's first wash.

Sorry to disagree but to my mind most silver cars look like an undercoat, black does not show up all the black detailing, white is non descript, the green is stunning and the blue also. Shame there is no metallic red, such as the Firespark VW did as a one off colour for a european car show.
Still I suppose everyone likes different colours. Here in NZ to my mind there are far too many silver ( 330 shades of +) and black, too boring and conservative. Let's liven up the world of cars with a little bit of colour. Cheers

No worries Paul, as you say everybody has their own tastes. I saw some pictures & video of a Viper Green R, and it looked incredible. The Rising Blue also looks fantastic, and I reckon it's the most popular choice amongst R owners. I only keep choosing Reflex Silver because I'm bone idle lazy and it needs the least amount of maintenance. ;)

I was a tad disappointed that they didn't offer a broader choice of R colours. I've always loved the Deep Pearl Blue R32's and I agree that Firespark Red looked great on the showcar Scirocco.
I'm also hoping the Autoglym Lifeshine treatment will keep my boring Silver car, shiny for just that little bit longer. Maybe if I lived in the town, and not out in the sticks, I could be tempted to switch back to a more exciting colour. But because I have to share my access road with a variety of dirty great big tractors and other farm vehicles, I'll stick with Silver, which looks 'relatively' clean after a quick hose down. :)
But I must say that my Silver R looks so much nicer than my Silver R32.

George,

Thanks for posting the photos of your Reflex Silver Scirocco R. I have struggled to find any detailed photos of the Scirocco R in this colour that have been taken by owners of the car rather than trade sellers.

I have to say that it looks great. I was wondering if you ordered the car with 18" or 19" alloys?

Many thanks

I like the silver, its not a colour i would have picked from the brochure TBH, but after i saw mine in the flesh i was glad i got it, looks classy and still sporty, silver really shows the lines up perfectly, people stare at it all the time, everyone who sees it loves it, even friends who said why did you buy silver (having not seen it in flesh), they soon change there mind when they see it

white to me looks like a big marshmallow on the Rocco, black isnt practical for me and doesnt show up the black shiny bits, Blue, well blue was my brochure choice but it seems everyone has this colour LOL so its good to be different , and green, well it does look good on it, even the wife liked it, but having owned bright cars in the past i find that you soon go off it after a while., especially as every manufacturer will release a green even on the smallest/ cheapest model they do and therefore ruin it.

Nice car Gorgeous, love the spec
