Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
think he missed a trick and should have gone two tone black with the red (red alcantara even better) and then had some R logos on the head rests, as it stands doesn't go with what the car is about, stock cloth still the way to go on the R

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
I like this color I thought of having this done to my car but did not go ahead because I was concerned how the front seats would look with the black plastic surround.
Mine is deep black and would look great with red leather but I think a shade darker.
Well done Tony

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
Pardon my ignorance, but how did the owner of that Scirocco get Red Leather?
Is this something to do with the VW Individual service?
A few years ago, I had a Silver, "yes Silver ", Audi TT with Denim Blue leather interior and matching trim, which looked really good. I think a nice Deep Red Leather interior would've looked good in my Silver R, and provided a nice contrast to the sea of anthracite.
Although I'm just happy it's not Jet Black which is way to gloomy!!!
Kind Regards

Completely disagree. Take cost out of the equation and leather will always be better than cloth on a car. Who can honestly say that if they had the choice and expense wasn't a factor that they would rather have cloth than leather????wigit wrote:stock cloth still the way to go on the R

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
Its funny that when I was arranging the leasing on my new roc adding leather SAVED me £7.93 per month because the residual value at the end with leather was so much higher. I must say, if I was in the fortunate position of ordering an R I would not even consider it with cloth. It just wouldnt feel right..........
Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
Its most likely a custom retrim George, although it looks very familiar to me from some previous pics somewhere but I can't put my finger on where at the moment.Georgeous wrote:Pardon my ignorance, but how did the owner of that Scirocco get Red Leather?

I can't decide whether its a shame the R logo isn't in the headrests or not, the red isnt my thing though but good for them for being different

The R interior looks miles better with the cloth than the leather. The Leather makes the interior look just like any other scirocco, the cloth is Unique to the R and as such is the best interior for the model.
Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
totally agree with you on the R cloth, having been in GTI2RocR's i wouldn't tick the leather boxAndy-GTI wrote:MeEvil Derboy wrote: Who can honestly say that if they had the choice and expense wasn't a factor that they would rather have cloth than leather????

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
Leather's a no-brainer for me I'm afraid!
We have a collection of hairy pets at home, and trying to keep cloth seats 'hair-free' is too much like hard work for my liking.
It somehow manages to magically weave itself into the fabric, rendering it virtually impossible to remove with even a powerful hoover + attachments!!!

Ah.. I see where you guys are coming from in terms of the differentiator between the standard leather and the cloth. Still think leather really lifts the interior fo a car. But if the R came with two-tone leather (similar design to R cloth) would you still say the same thing? Or would you have gone for leather then?
Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
finish wise two colours alcantara centres with leather outers would have been my choice as per option on S3

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
I think that all of the comments on these seats just goes to prove that VW do not give enough choice on materials and color on the Scirocco range, look at the choices you get on the Audi TT

Re: Scirocco R with red leather seats!
If model specific leather or part leather had been an option I'd have plumped for it. As said by others the current leather doesn't differentiate R's inside from normal models. My test drive was in a dealers car with leather and TBH seeing standard VW leather seats as found in golfs, eos's, passats, tigauns and torans was a big turn off me. Recaro's had they been available would be an interesting option.
