Hi all, new here but just picked up a 2011 1.4 TSI Scirocco yesterday and very happy with it.
I am after a roof rack and have done some research and browsed a few old threads on here and found out it's quite tricky to get a decent one - also if you have one for sale I would love to hear from you
- Genuine VW option - If someone has one for sale I would be interested!
- Modula Aluminium rack - Any comments on this? Available for around £130 on ebay
- PreAlpina LP49 - Any comments on this? Available for around £130 on ebay
Other than that, I have seen you can get second hand Thule 754 feet and then Thule Aero bars of your choice for a good price second hand. Thule used to produce the mounting hardware for a Scirocco under part number 1631 which is no longer available, but looking into the documentation you can still buy the front Scirocco mounts (PN 1139 - source https://www.roofracks.co.uk/pdf/1631.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which are the same front mounts from a Ford Cougar Coupe.... Only problem now, what do you use for the rear mounting. The part 1140 in the above manual is no longer avaialble.
Thanks all!

Re: WANTED: Scirocco Roof Rack
Bought from micks garage .com
6 days delivery from Dublin to sydney Australia.
Took me longer to read the obfuscated Italian EU instructions than to fit them
Note: the front bars fit onto a specific lug hidden under the door seal.
Message me if you have trouble.

Hi mate, tried to message you but it won’t let me, I’ve got the same roof bars as you and was wondering if you had any tips/help how to fit them as the instructions are awful and I’m just having a nightmare tbh haha. Cheers

I’m an engineer and I would agree the instructions are a long way from good.
Which bit are you stick on?

Re: WANTED: Scirocco Roof Rack
Hello everyone, I need a Thule 1631 fitting set. Unfortunately my rear rack came of and is too damaged to reuse.
I brought the last set on eBay 2 months ago......
Anyone have anything knocking about?
OR the rear clamps...1140 is the part number, as these have bent. The rubber elements were saved
