I have join this forum because I my son's 2010 Scirroco has died in the driveway with what is flagged as an ESP error (amongst other things) He arrived home without a problem, but an hour later the car would not start with the error ESP flagged. It was also asking for the geat shift to placed in Park or Neutral The shift is in park, so the shift positon is not being flagged to the controller. Attempting to move the shift out of park does not work.
Googling the error suggested two items. 1 The battery 2 the ABS control. It now has a new battery. I checked the fuses in the type a fuse box (see attached .JPG). F5 was blown. I have looked high and low on the internet for a list of the consumers for this fuse box. There is a link earlier in the thread whcih may have the information on fuse consumer allocation
download/file.php?id=2659 but it is no longer available. I have now eliminated one possible cause of blowing F5. I have unplugged the ABS control. F5 is still blowing so there must be other components powered via this fuse. Any information would be helpful.
