Wing mirror replacement

Post by owen191 »

Hi all,

I have found a replacement wing mirror, the seller says the mirror is heated and electic adjust. My current mirror has the folding option. Is this enabled using VCDS or do I need to keep looking for a mirror with this option?

Thanks in advance.

If only it was that easy, it's a different part :)

How badly damaged is the original mirror, and what side of the car was it on?

Overall i can live with it, but in the long run it needs replacing. Chunk out of the indicator strip, cracked white plastic cover and a big bit of black plastic casing is missing.

providing all that damage is on the bit of the mirror that folds it should be a relatively easy fix. It sounds like all you need is a new lower housing (~£27) and a mirror cap (~£35 +paint). Here are a couple of links with how to take the mirror apart:

Thats brilliant news! Yes all damage is on the mirror, no base damage. Thanks for the help!
