Re: rattel noise
Mine does this at about 1200rpm aswell. Mines going in Monday I'll let you knows sounds like a plastic rattling noise coming from nearer the passenger side.

Re: rattel noise
I also have a rattle noise at low revs. It seems to be coming from the rear drivers sight and is sightly squeaky in its sound so I assume it is trim related rather than anything mechanical.

I'm getting lots of rattles at the moment. Have you got any details on how you fixed each one?
Cheers

Re: rattel noise
mine was all sorted under warranty but vw was going to charged me but it would of only been 45.00 pounds which i think it seems very reasonable

Re: rattel noise
I had a similar rattle, but a different cause, in fact I probably have some of the same ones as yours as well so I will check, but on my TDi the loudest was the bonnet stay rattling against the bracket that holds it (I hesitate to call it a hinge but that's the purpose the bracket serves). I fixed it by putting some self-adhesive insulation on the back of the bracket so the stay cannot rub against the bracket.
I think the immense low end torque of the common rail TDis which means they pull strongly from only about 1100 rpm, exaggerates vibrations at low revs. On most cars you wouldn't be applying power at such low revs.
