No mic is fitted - the mic you have to fit comes with the BT kit when you order. So make sure when you order (if you use carsystems.pl), choose the retrofit kit!

The mic goes into the map light area as per the guide I sent

Coding sometimes can be a bit fickle but it gets there in the end.... I could never ger my RNS to re-boot but after a couple of attempts at entering the coding all was well.

Ignore the 'compass module' - its to do with a US feature, not the RNS.

Hey Mark,

How much was the trim, got a pic of it fitted?
On eBay they sell the unit, mic and loom. My Kufetec was a sinch to fit with a loom.
I'm going Bt, then Rns, I only sold one a year ago, sickens me to buy another. Side note, free my golf highlife in red, the white is nice .

Retro fitted Bluetooth to my RCD510 yesterday and works a treat. All done in less than an hour including coding and testing. Got a modified retrofit loom with connectors in the microphone cable so if I fit a RNS510 I can just change the connectors over with no messing.

This is what I used.

This has the better loom. If you use a RCD 510 the MIC has to be connected directly to the Bluetooth box but if you have a RNS 510 the MIC connects to the stereo then out to the Bluetooth box so the loom has connectors to enable both configurations. Most looms are wired for RNS 510 so when connected to a RCD 510 the MIC does not work.

Just to let you know (Mark V), the European RNS is rebooted using the SETUP + EJECT + Star/Speaker buttons. The american one is the unit that used the <> + Eject + star I think.... Just things I have been observing (and in case anyone else didn't know)
