Stage 2 with Revo or APR is intake and full TBE system (inc downpipe). HPFP is 2+.eMiL-VR6 wrote: What's the standard with Stage 2? Re-map, intake and a downpipe alt. turboback?
I've done a decent bit of logging with revo stage 2 and haven't seen a situation where logged actual rail pressure was below specified pressure.
Personally if I was going for an upgraded HPFP I'd also go for the RS4 FPV, but then for 2+ I'd be thinking about proper balance improvements e.g. ARB's, mounts, Bilstein B16's, Quaife/Peloquin/Wavetrac LSD etc. Stage 2+ also raises the question of stock PCV, PCV "fix" or proper catch can setup.
Going 2+ for me would be a £5-£6k spend over and above 2 which IMHO isn't really worth it on a FWD hatch when I'd have ended up spending 24 month old C63 AMG, M3 or RS5 money to get there.
You mean the power delivery is more linear and progressive with meaningful gains earlier.. rather than all top end?wigit wrote:mappers are getting better fueling from the CDL engines, in reality i have never seen the point in going Stage 2+ unless you go for a LSD of have a Golf R as the stock XDS is not good enough and somewhat un predictable
in stage 2 you always get a nice power delivery which is not as boosty as stage 1

Re: AMD BOUND :) guess the BHP!
totally agree bOrk, my Ed35 is Stage 2 but running mounts, B16s, ARBs and XDS can handle it, i've also improved the stock rubber, given my mods planned it was the main reason i didnt go rocco r (chassis is better balanced on the GTI) or golf r as was knocking on 1M, M3 etc money
i found with Stage 1 maps and some more powerful cars you get a slug of mid range boost which for me is not as progressive how the Stage 2 feels, also a linear throttle map makes the would of difference in drivability
if you want to make your car quicker sort the handling

Torque is a bit low isn't it? 350Nm = 250 lb/ft ??

Hmm.. What should i be with stage 1?Chungster wrote:Torque is a bit low isn't it? 350Nm = 250 lb/ft ??
Calculated to crank numbers this would be something like 400nm?
