Not looked at my thread for a while.

I still have the same problem...
Anyone had any luck getting it fixed?
If I knew exactly what the problem was, I would fix it myself.

any info would be helpful

Cheers

Hi folks new to the forum purely because of this thread which I found on a google search, I have this problem but its only became noticeable in the cold is it a necessity to get it fixed just now or can I leave it for a wee while, I just bought the car a month ago do you think it la worth while taking it back to the dealer or will they turn me away. Thanks :)

If the clutch still functions correctly and doesnt have a worn out friction plate.....then this is a mechanical fault....so id expect a warrenty to cover the repairs....ours was done on warrenty as it was a mechanical fault - not wear and tear....

Hi Danny, My cold start is very minor so I haven't done anything about it. I checked everything with VAGCOM and it all seems fine. Without driving another scirocco its hard for me to tell if its normal or not.

Hi Kenny, I understand what you are saying but there is no way of telling if the friction plate is the problem without dropping the gearbox. If they don't find a problem, they will change £300 for the inspection. I need some concrete proof to give to my warranty provider that its a mechanical fault before I will consider an inspection.

That's the same as me mate, I've only noticed it past few days and once the radios on I don't notice it , I don't think it's doing any damage because shifting through the gears is smooth and easy I'm just gonna leave it till it warms up abit and see where to go from there I was just panicing abit because I've not been driving the car long only a few weeks and this is the first I've noticed it, cheers.

There is a VW technical report number for this fault...."in other words a known fault".....ill try and find the paperwork from when we had the warrenty work done...it may have the number on it.

I had this problem develop on mine in recent months. The dealer confirmed it was a clutch pressure plate fault and repaired it under warranty. The part number on the invoice was 06J141015JX and they said they supplied and fitted a new clutch and refitted the gearbox. It was in the dealers for just over a day.

Hey everyone, this has started happening to my 2009 2.0 TSI 42k in the last few weeks, cold starts, same problem in terms reversing on a slight incline, then in first gear too at biting point until warm...so convinced its the same problem, to clarify, do I have any argument with the main dealer on it being an inherent fault rather than wear and tear despite being out of warranty?? :(

I have notice this problem occuring on my car over the last few months but whilst driving home on friday i was in 4th gear put my foot down on an inclined slip road to get on the motorway and the clutch slipped the revs increased as youd expect almost similarly to if it was wheel spinning. Now the clutch definitely needs changing and hopefully is going to eliminate all the previous noises made.
