Seat covers?

Some advice needed on whether to put seat covers on and which type to go for. Car has the cloth seats and are heated. I keep catching the bolster upon entry/exit and it's getting a bit fluffy including the stitching. Should I go for seat covers before it wears through and which type should I get or ...

Anybody know how much a genuine fitted replacement would cost? May have to consider insurance job if a...

Re: really annoying rattling!!!!

Hello. My Tsi has it too. It comes from the clock region when i accelerate. I sprayed the area with silicon but i can't solve it. It's just another creak/rattle/squeak that most rocs make.

Re: Tailgate rattle/clunk

Does anybody know the part number of the spring loaded stops? After adjusting them slightly to cure the rattle, mine have now snapped off. The car is only 6 months old so I could go see the dealer but I would rather order a few on-line. I think they will always keep breaking cos they are a bit of a ...

Re: revs rising in 1st gear

Mine does it too. It makes for a graunchy change when it's cold as well. I think it happens around the 2k rev mark. Changing below or well above helps a bit.

Re: Mark/ Scratch on Pearl Black

Everything marks the topcoat on the Pearl Black! Meguires Scratch X is best used with a new clean microfibre towel. Polish the whole car with 'OPT Optimum Car Wax' afterwards. It's a clear liquid in a trigger gun. It also does your plastics. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/optimum-car-wax/prod_776...

Re: Which diesel? 140 or 170?

Okay. I submit. Enjoy your car. It's what ownership is all about. I wonder how the torque curves compare? That's another thread though. :-) Just found a Dyno chart which shows peak torque of 280Nm from 1500rpm to 5000rpm and no dips on the Tsi. That's exactly how it feels. Hugely grunty! All the pow...

Have you driven the Tsi? No Geoff they were:- 2 year old Audi A4 Tdi170 and 3 year old Passat Tdi140's. 1963?? Don't get personal and call me an idiot...it's just a matter of choice.

Re: Which diesel? 140 or 170?

Laugh all you like at 40mpg! All I know I would rather drive mine than yours. Are all the motoring press articles completely wrong? If you drive 12000 miles per year you will save £390 driving a TD170 over a 2.0TSi which equals out over 3 years of ownership. You are right, I didn't test drive either...

Re: Which diesel? 140 or 170?

Get the 2.0 Tsi. It goes and sounds like a car should. Do some maths and work out if it might even be a cheaper option to run. I get over 40mpg driving nicely not above 70mph, but know it can boogie when I want! The exhaust note is sublime too. This may open a can of worms but why have a heavy diese...

Re: The first scuff!

I fixed a kerbed alloy last year on my Rex. Gently ground off the burr with a dremel type thing. Applied some filler Sanded off with a fine grade sanding sponge. (Moulds to the shape of the rim) Touched up with primer and paint by brush. It was a silver painted alloy. It looked okay and it stopped m...

Re: HELP "SD CARD or IPOD or USB

I've tried all the methods (Not got HDD) and favour the iPod over the USB. It displays all the data on the screen and is an absolute doddle to use. iTunes has sorted out all your albums/track names etc for you. There is a slight hiccup between tracks sometimes. I think it's something to do with your...

Re: harsh ride on 122

I can only cope with my ride set on 'Comfort' for day to day use. 2.0Tsi with 19' wheels. I will save 'Sport' for the odd track day. It's worse than a Cooper S! Maybe I'm getting old.

Dealer paint protection vs Bird poo

Hello all My pearl black car got pooed on yesterday and by the time i got it home to clean it, the purple berried poo had burnt throught the clearcoat! Had to get my mate to come round with his electric polisher and a myriad of polishes to sort it. It had a dealer £150 paint protection on too....sup...
