Funny this, I went past a BMW dealer tonight and pulled in to have a look at a Z4 coupe. Really quite liked it but, as above, would I really want a car thats about to be superceded. Even if the older one is meant to be better than the new one.

A broker shouldnt really make much difference. All they do is put you in contact with the dealer and from then on you deal with the dealer. Im prepared that when I do actually get around to ordering my car its possibly to be waiting up to 20wks. Therefore anything less will be a bonus.

Audi offer two extra colour services. Either any colour in the Audi range or match a customer sample. Both cost extra £££ but at least the choice if there. I dont know if Id trust a body shop to take my car apart for a full respray and but it back together again without rattles.

On there, Pewter is similar to the colour Im after but in reality, as above, its nothing like that in real light.

You can do that with most of the Audi's now, costs a couple of grand.

Ideally something of a more dark metallic grey similar to BMW's Sparkling Graphite, or the metallic red as posted above. Even the new Golf has about a dozen colours to choose from. Im tempted to order pewter and then respray BMW sparkling graphite.

Does anyone else think that the colours on offer for the Scirocco are p*ss poor? I'm struggling to choose a colour between black, white and Pewter. All the other colours are a bit lame. I've even contemplated buying one in a base colour and having a full colour change respray from new!

Theres quite a few of them on Autotrader at the moment in various colours and spec's. I'd be more tempted by an R32 tobehonest knowing that the engine is about to be dumped. Might be the last opportunity to get a high capacity enginer in the Golf.

Yeah, that 2.5 litre engine is a good'en. wish you could get a Golf with that engine.

Having seen a GTI 3 door in graphite blue Im liking the GTI much more but I still think it represents terrible value for money. You can get a new S3 for less money than a half decent spec'd golf. Im planning on getting a scirocco for a couple of years and then look at the golf R

The ST and the new RS are very good cars, I just wouldnt be able to live with the interior on them.

The only thing I would find as a disappointment will be the price. If the car starts at £25K - £26K then that would'nt be too bad, the car comes standard with Xenons so there is £860 worth of equipment above the GT.
