Re: Door rattle.... Dealer trying to fob me off

I have the same rattle on my passenger door as well. It does annoy me, so I usually just turn the music up to block it out...

Re: Exploded view of Scirocco Engines

I don't have an exploded view of the engine as such, but I do have a TSI (I think...) engine manual somewhere in PDF form. It's from VW USA and I think it's designed as some kind of reference/training guide for VW Techs. It goes through every single engine component in detail. Would that be of any u...

Rather happily my car ceased making this noise a few months back. No idea why.

Re: DYNAUDIO SETTINGS

I have fitted this on my car just wondering what range you guys use for bass, treble etc to get the best possible sound out of the speakers. thanks in advance :) I use settings as suggested by someone on a thread on here a few months back. Mid to max, bass at about 3/4, and treble at middle. Sounds...

Re: Rcd 510 pre outs ????

I'd guess the answer is yes, as the Dynaudio has an amp under the passenger seat and you can have that in conjunction with the RCD 510.

Re: What's your favourite driving tune(s)?.....

Like Kev I have a very varied selection of music. As far as driving tunes go though, if it's a leisurely drive then I'd probably go for some ZZ Top, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd type stuff. If it's a bit more of a spirited drive, then I'd go with Deacon on the new Prodigy album (or some of the old ones) ...

Re: Which types of media do you use in car?

I have my iPod plugged in 95% of the time, along with a 16Gb SD card, and a couple of CDs in the changer. Enough music to keep me and any passengers entertained.

Re: Engine idle noise??

I think it's a general VAG thing. My old TT and the 1.4 Polo I bought for my ex both made exactly the same kind of noise. Pop to your local VW garage, fire up any of the new petrol models and will almost certainly sound the same.

Re: A Lexus rocco rival?

There is no way that it will come out of the factory looking anything like that if it is made! Front and rear bumpers will be tamed down, suspension raised and nice set of 16" slapped on...

Re: Renault Megane Coupe

A friend at work has just taken delivery of the 180bhp version of this as a company car. The slightly odd stance and very cheap looking interior aside, the acceleration and handling was pretty underwhelming. He'd been out in the Roc a few times pre-Revo, and I think he was hoping the Megane would be...

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?

I'd go with around 5 litres as well. Spec says the car has a 55 litre tank, and on the one occasion mine got to zero I was only able to get about 51 litres in when I got to the garage.

Next time you can tell him that you can get golf clubs in the boot, but you have to put the driver in seperately and diagonally :)

Re: Delivery length?

I think the reason for the delay is due to the way they prioritise the engine distribution. Certain lines e.g. Golf, Passat, take priority over the lower volume model like the Roc. If they find there is a demand for the the higher priority models, then they basically take the engines (and presumably...

I ordered in December 08 and got mine in March 09. Paid £22,750 (list was about £23,900 I think) and the site is now quoting £24,990 excluding the sills which don't appear there.

brilliant :( English translation anyone?? Just sum it up in 1 word if you like. or even just an appropriate choice from the smilies!! They're not saying anything new. It's mostly just talking about the challenges of designing the new car rather than any interesting technical details. Mind you, I wa...

Re: What just happened?

Oh, I completely agree on not being streets ahead. I wasn't trying to suggest that the Roc would be significantly faster than the ST by any means, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was a little quicker. Using the MkV as an alternative to the Roc is not at all accurate though (it's about...

Re: What just happened?

The MkV Golf is heavier than the Roc, and the torque on the Roc is closer to 300Nm than 280 in reality. A standard Roc will leave a standard MkV behind without much problem. The figures you quoted also show the Roc having a much wider torque band than the ST. Still, would be interesting to see a sta...

Re: What just happened?

The Focus I can understand, as the power is almost identical (if you look at RRs rather than manufacturer figures) but the Focus is over 100kg heavier (more if it's a 5 door). The Skyline on the other hand should have easily seen off the Roc. Focus - 159 bhp/tonne (220bhp 1392kg) Roc - 168 bhp/tonne...
