The Germans always get low spec kit as standard, its the norm. They also pay a lot more than we do for certain models, so in theory we get a good deal.

I too am really suprised that Firespark is not on the options list for colours, and that the Roc R gets less colours than the Golf R.

Why do you need front fogs, if you have Xennons anyway? I'm suprised at the cloth, it looks quite good actually. Lets hope it makes it to the UK spec cars. Where did the pics from above come from? Ahh didn't see we get ACC and RCD510 on GT models, so I guess this should be standard on the R?

I just hope the cloth looks good, as I don't want to spend £1500 on leather! I could get a new 3+2 Seater for less than that down DFS

All in all I think it was pretty much as we was expecting. I do like it, but it depends how its priced that will make or break this car. Options I can see so far are, 19" wheels, which I think are the ones pictured Leather (Shame its not standard) RCD510 + Nav options, Dynaudio and phone etc DC...

As long as it is around £25k, I'm getting one in May 2010 as replacement for my ED30.

Looks really nice and subtle and I know the mrs would prefer this than the Focus RS.

Just hope it drives well too.

I don't speak German much, but on VW's site here it confirms the world premiere of the R at next weekend 24 hour race at the ring.
