Scirocco Central

Having admirably made over 150,000 miles on the original struts one of the rears has given up. I'm having a good look round but has anyone had to replace they're struts here, which replacement brand is best?

The official VW service manual says to TURN ON the ignition then disconnect the battery. Why? to dissipate electrical charge? this seems counter intuitive. Has anyone replaced there front seats. What's the best way to disconnect? Just disconnect the battery first?

The gearbox and clutch need replacing.

Then you have short to positive. Recheck your wires or book a mobile electrical mechanic no point banging your head against a brick wall.

Get a local garage to to a full bleed and refill and go from there.

You didn't mention a thermostat change in your first post. Its quite important to share all info so people don't waste time. There isn't a second thermostat for the DSG.

I'm installing leather seats. OK I've managed to take all the necessary interior trim out. The last obstacle is the connector for the interior monitoring deactivation switch connector. Does anyone know how to disconnect it?

Oh I've got the same problem and have booked a thermostat change. I'm looking into whether there's a second thermostat for the dsg gearbox see youtube. When I rang the garage they said it doesn't exist on a scirocco but I'm not convinced. Is yours fixed?

If you compare the overall height of the scirocco compared to a golf GTI you will notice that they sit at the same height. The rocco has active suspension. Is it possible to prime the fuel system after changing the fuel filter by turning the ignition on 6 times?
The car is a 2010 2.0 tdi.

I watched a YouTube of a filter change but I think he was working on a 15 plate.
