Has anyone got favourite front tyres?
My factory tyres are needing to be changed, and I was wondering if anyone would recommend any tyres other than the Dunlops it came with?

AM reception
Have tried to listen to Radio 5 in my car since new and at best I think the term is patchy (!!) I have just accepted that, but last week I was in a basic new Astra which had much better reception, so wondered what the forum's experience is?

Re: How level is your steering wheel?
Good point, but they catch you at work with your car in for a first service..."yes sir, you were right, we can fix it for..." etc.

Re: How level is your steering wheel?
Yes, had mine done at my first service. Cost £99 on top! But those few degrees make it feel much better.

Interesting, 'cos mine drop 3 or 4 psi quite regularly.

Re: How level is your steering wheel?
Cheers.
I think it has definitely got worse over time. Might pop in tomorrow and see what they say.

Re: Anyone put nitrogen in their tyres?
It's supposed to be more consistent and not 'leak' so easily, plus change in temperature does not affect it so much. F1 and Aeroplanes have it their tyres.

Anyone put nitrogen in their tyres?
Being tempted to put nitrogen in my tyres. Has anyone done it and is it worth the money?

How level is your steering wheel?
How level is your steering wheel? Mine is off by about 10 degrees, and is beginning to annoy me. Have had my car from new and have not hit the suspension as far as I know, can it get worse over the 11000 miles I've had it for? It brakes in a straight line, etc. Would a VW garage laugh at me if I ask...

European Assistance Quick Question
My Scirocco is less than a year old, bought from a UK dealer. Am I automatically covered by VW's European Assistance?

Re: Going to France
Thanks everyone,
Would have forgotten about those things.
Not going 'till the summer and then driving a LONG way down. Would have been fun to go to Le Mans, though!

Going to France
Do you still have to stick black 'dipped' stickers on the headlights of cars that are going to be driven in France? How about a GB sticker?

Re: Wind Noise
Have checked seals by typical looking and prodding and all seem fine at 0 mph.
Sometimes re-sealing window by dropping it and lifting it while on the move seems to make a slight difference. Think something is just not quite right at faster speeds.

Hi.
Does anyone else notice a large increase in wind noise above 69 miles an hour?

Re: Heated Wing Mirrors
Hi.
I've tried to not keep mine on all time now weather is getting a bit warmer.
Didn't realise that if you turn one more click past the heater icon the mirrors fold in!! Should have known that!

Boot Rattle Under Warranty
I've had my Scirocco since late November and have noticed a bad knocking sound when the car goes over the right type of pot hole/bump. I find that once you hear it it doesn't go away and worse, you start listening for it. There is a long, ongoing thread about ways to fix it by taking out bump stops,...

Re: Snow Alarm
Actually, it's worse than my little jolly note above suggests as when I go out to the car, because I have pressed my remote to turn the alarm off my driver's side window has dropped a little and tried to return outside it's seal. Looked bad. Weren't these cars tested in cold conditions?

Snow Alarm
Anyone else had problems with their alarm going off in the cold weather? Mine woke the neighbours this morning. Probably just a great big lump of snow falling off it, or something.
