Boot Rattle Under Warranty

I've had my Scirocco since late November and have noticed a bad knocking sound when the car goes over the right type of pot hole/bump. I find that once you hear it it doesn't go away and worse, you start listening for it. There is a long, ongoing thread about ways to fix it by taking out bump stops,etc already on site, but surely this is a warranty issue? Surely it is a fault, especially as so many owners seem to have similar problems. How good are VW at looking in to things like this?

I got it fixed in a day once the snow melted, it's under warranty! (you paid 20k for a perfect new car, not nearly perfect)
