If VW won't give you a good price, will the BMW dealer take it off you for £15k? You'd then be free to deal with VW without having to worry about p/exing and often dealers discount higher when there's no p/ex involved. I did this with my MX-5 - haggled with VW without trying to do a deal on a p/ex ...

Realistically I imagine I could get about £1200 off the Scirocco (according to what car) and aim to get £15k for my MINI.

Leaving me to pay £9375 for the Scirocco.

I find being confident helps - i.e know what you want, etc I was willing to sign there an then, if he gave me the price I was looking for. (Also the end of the month is always a good time). Just be sensible with how much your expecting off the price. Or try the "throw" in freebies method....

What is the best conversation to have with a dealer when I walk in, literally? Where do you start etc?

I heard asking for a "discount" is never the thing to do- best to ask for a fair deal for myself & salesperson.

I agree the wheels look very good. Sumatra is the colour I will choose. I test drove a 2.0 TSI DSG and was my first drive in an auto. Let's say it was interesting and took a while to get used to!
I defo will be choosing DSG.

Didn't think it would cause such confusion lol! After seeing Trix's rocco I would tend to agree, it seems to be sumatra.

I have no idea which colour I'd go for but love the look of the one I uploaded.
I've had white- I'd really like a dark colour now. The rocco is a masculine car and looks great in darker shades imo!

I think this has defo made my mind up, I'll be buying an ex demo. Even I'd prefer new- I cannot be arsed waiting months on end for a car!! Good luck with it married- recognize you from audi sport!
