Appreciate the reply mate. Is that the pillar before or after the rear passenger window?paddyz1 wrote:Mine did the same. It sounds stupid but it was just the reversing speaker. Replaced it and everything was fine. It is located on the drivers side rear pillar.
Might be something else for you though.

Parking sensors no longer working 2010 TSI
My parking sensors randomly stopped working after a injector failure/repair which I think was a coincidence. No longer beeps when put into reverse and the headunit says the sensors are unavailable. The stored error was control module incorrectly coded 01543, but not sure how it would become uncoded ...

Re: Replacing oil with an extractor after injector failure
Another question re the oil extractor! I have everything I need to complete it now, but my driveway has a slight incline and I'm wondering if it would be better to have the front pointing up the incline, or down. Dipstick tube must either go to the front or back right?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: Replacing oil with an extractor after injector failure
How much was the new injectors? How did you know they were faulty? What was the test? cheers Can't remember exactly but I think parts cost were around £100 each injector. Basically the engine suffered with a misfire, and the coilpacks had been changed a few months back so they were ruled out. Next ...

Dynaudio spare wheel sub retrofit + alpine alternatives
Hi all, To my surprise after looking at my spare wheel for the first time since I bought the car (even then was a quick glance), I found out pre-facelift models with Dynaudio ship with no spare wheel sub. I'd like to install one but have a few questions if anybody has been down the same route. From ...

Re: Replacing oil with an extractor after injector failure
Fantastic, thanks both for your replies. Can you see any issue removing petrol contaminated oil? As I’ve been shopping around some pumps seem to carry a warning that they shouldn’t be used to extract petrol/flammable/hazardous liquids, not sure if this is related to the plastic material or if there ...

Replacing oil with an extractor after injector failure
Hi all, Looking for some advice regarding changing contaminated oil after injectors was replaced after it became stuck open causing a misfire. Had a friend do the work for me, in total replacing 2 injectors, plugs and coilpacks, and the problem is now resolved. At the time I had no idea the oil had ...

Re: Identify which genuine gearbox oil to use
If you look at the build sticker located on the boot floor or on the one stuck on the inside of the service booklet, you should get a 3 digit gearbox code and should be able to cross reference that with the correct oil. Perfect, didn’t realise they printed that kind of stuff! Cheers Sent from my iP...

Identify which genuine gearbox oil to use
Hi all, Continuing my notchy/rough gear saga I’ve been recommended to have the oil changed on the manual gearbox. Most people say go with genuine oil, is this the best stuff or is there another variety to try for a possible work synchro? Heard of others using Millers. According to the VW’s ETKA ther...

Hadn't realised how easy (looks at least!) it is to adjust the linkages, may be worth a shot

Re: Manual gearbox issues 2010
I had ruled that out because whatever the cause is doesn't affect it 100% of the time, and read that if the linkages needed adjustment then it would be a problem all the time.Cuprabob wrote:First thing I would suggest is to try adjusting the gear linkage.
Would you say it's still worth considering?

Manual gearbox issues 2010
My 2010 2.0 TSI manual gearbox has some issues I’m hoping an oil change will help with, but wanted to see if there are any other suggestions/experiences. (80k miles) Basically when the box is cold (esp in cold weather) it’s a bit stiff and for the first few changes between 1,2,3 it feels like metal ...
