Autoebid are quoting an expected best price of £23,361 (against an RRP of £25,990), which is £19,468 tax free. Another 10% off that would be £17,521.
I'd actually go as as far as to say that if he really is offering it to you for £17,500, buy 3.

Re: Goodbye - another one bites the dust...
Excellent choice. I had one of the early Cayman S (March 06 to July 07) and absolutely loved it. I also had an invite from Porsche to go a test drive the new Cayman R at Silverstone a couple of months ago. Now my manual Cayman S was good. Really good. However, the PDK Cayman R was a league above. Wh...

Re: What an expensive car....
I was just making observations. I thought it was a common saying: "drive it like it's stolen/hired/leased". If you've spent £80 per week on average for the 1500 miles you've covered in the last six weeks, it appears that you are. People aren't always out to get you. However, in fairness to...

Re: What an expensive car....
Absolutely. Your £73 gets you 363 miles. The OP is getting 250 miles for his £80. My point is, the OP is complaining that the car is expensive. However, it clearly doesn't need to be as expensive as he's making out. Your 250 miles cost you £50 in V-Power, so why is his costing £80? Most cars will be...

Re: What an expensive car....
At 250 miles per week, 20mpg and £1.40 a litre you're looking at £80 a week. Are those really the stats of an R?trix wrote:£80 per week in fuellittleyellowspider wrote:Whats '80pw'?

Re: What's your best ever MPG
If the engine does not reach it's operating temparature you end up with condensation build up in the engine which will turn to emulsified sludge which will restrict oil flow, also will cause premature exhaust and catylistic converter failure due to again not reaching a high enough temparature to bu...

Oh, and 41.1mpg calculated after seven 56mile round trips to work.
You can trim 2 to 3 mpg off your MFD folks.

Re: What's your best ever MPG
Seriously you drive less than a mile to work? Does that damage the car as it wont have got up to operating temperature?? :s Very damaging over a period of time. Mark Why is it damaging? We've all got to do the first 0.8miles, haven't we? Why does it damage the engine if it has to stop rather than c...

Re: Baby car seats
Talking of airbag deactivation, when our daughter (who turned 4 on 19th Dec) was born I was driving a Cayman S. I didn't realise that a passenger airbag deactivation switch wasn't standard. I paid to have it retrofitted at a cost of approx £400. Twice Holly and I went out in that car on our own!! Ex...

Re: Baby car seats
You will get seriously jarred off getting a newborn in and out of a rear facing baby seat in the back of your Scirocco. Saying that, it'll the whole seat you'll be taking out and putting back in, won't it? In which case, it shouldn't be too bad. Not the most inspiring view for the chiddler though......

You can trim a couple of mpg off the MFD. The highest I've had over a full tank was 41.1mpg (calculated). Admittedly, I was driving like a tree hugger.

Re: New Scirocco, +questions
No it doesn't. It allows the engine to rev harder, i.e. get closer to the red line before changing up, and generally sit at higher cruising revs.chrisyboyc wrote:The Sport button on the DSG just effects the gears allowing the car to change up and down quicker.
