Re: Remaps and SPS

174bhp is 177ps ... so you want the 177 remaps.

I’d avoid Celtic too.

Which Professional Detailer to go with?

Has anyone heard of Ceramic Pro? Cheers :) It's similar stuff and certainly not superior at all. I've used most of them now being a detailer myself. On a new car I'd recommend GTechniq Serum. But you would not get that for £500. Ask for a breakdown of exactly what you are getting for £500. Yes Paul...

Re: Rust on door sill opening

Got the same problem with mine ... also a 2009 / 59 reg ... I caught it early by cleaning up and then using touch up paint.

Ideally it needs some clear protection film to prevent the rubbing.

Re: Air Con High Pressure on 2.0 TSI

Yes. Go in from underneath to access it ... remove the lower engine cover, driver side wheel and wheel arch liner and access is nice and easy... it is the lowest pulley on the car so under those you have shown. :) I can't remember size of bolt and screw unfortunately but can take a picture of the ai...

Air Con High Pressure on 2.0 TSI

Yep. It will be the compressor clutch bolt ... had the same issue. Bought the kit of eBay and fixed it myself in half hour saving the £800+ VW wanted for a new compressor! Basically the bolt either loosens or falls out ... the compressor clutch then shears its splines that locates on to the compress...

Re: Detailing Thoughts

As mentioned the paint on Sciroccos is pretty hard ... so although possible with a DA will be very time consuming and require patience. I corrected mine with rotary for that reason and even then it needed heavy cutting pads and FG400. It was then finished with P0203S (2400) before being waxed. With ...

Re: Swirl Marks

You can easily spend 25-30 hours doing a 2 or 3 stage correction especially on some cars with harder paint types. Generally around £250 is around the right money for detailing. Not for 25-30 hours work it isn't. You'd be lucky to get single stage work for £250. Couldnt complain if it was for 25-30 ...

Front console bushes and wishbones have been checked last weekend ... all fine I'm told.

Mechanic did recommend uprated console bushes as they do fail on these cars apparently.

Decided to go for something between silver and black... looked at a few examples and decided on 'black chrome' which is basically a glossy dark silver between OEM and gunmetal. I think it should look good without being too OTT!? https://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/essential_grid/black-chrome/"...

Seems like it was all over the place in the before measures - why was it so bad ? In any case , they appear to have corrected most of the errors , I'd concentrate on getting the rear left toe back to nominal . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Absolutely no idea. Buy a car on history and condition. Mileage is just a number. Many high mileage examples spend most of their life cruising on the motorway and receive a much easier life than low mileage examples that spend all their life around town or doing a few miles as day and not reaching operating temperatur...

Much better than it was ... still not 100% but should be easy to sort with a new left rear arm bolt. (seized and didn't want to snap it!)
