They're based in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth. I had issues with the windows as well so it could be a similar problem with yours. Give them a call, the guy I spoke to knew exactly what was up when I described the symptoms.

I spoke to VW initially and all they said was to bring it in for diagnostics. This along with paying to get it recovered or towed put me off to start with. Apparently I this issue is cause by a defective processor which forms part of the electronics behind the clocks. Mines been sent away to a company called Cartronix to have a new processor fitted for £150. All immobiliser and odo information is kept so you don't have to get VW to reprogram anything. ...
