SOLVED..
the new G version of the head unit solved the issue i was having.
I now get full track info displayed.

I think he used a bluetooth plug in unit... Some kind of appliance that plugs into the MDI IIRC. I think the answer may have been moved into another thread - cant remember where I saw it. this says its now solved? I've been searching everywhere for this exact issue. I have a 3c8 035 195 A RCD510DAB head unit made by blaupunkt and a 7P6 035 730 J bluetooth module I've tried a 7P6 035 730 M bluetooth module and it made no difference.
