So I am buying my Dads 2010 Roc in the coming months. The car is really well specd but does not have Bluetooth and this is something I want to install.
I have done some reading of the last few weeks and it seems to be a bit of a rabbit hole

So I understand from some US sites there are a number of versions of the RCD 510, the type of which limits your ability of you Bluetooth music playback. You need the latest AF version to be able to skip tracks using the screen and steering controls. Again I think the latest L version of the 7P6035730 bluetooth kit is required to ensure this functionality. (I have a white mfd)
My questions are:
1. Are there a number of versions of the RCD510 in the UK? Is there an easy way to tell which is which as the AF at the end of the model number in the US seems to be missing over here? My unit does not show the model number when I hold the setup button down so I think its old.
2. If I buy the latest bluetooth kit now I hope to get bluetooth calls and music streaming, I might not however get track skipping etc. via the radio or steering wheel. Is this correct?
My plan as stated is likely to buy the latest 7P6035730L Bluetooth kit, I am fairly confident with the fitting procedure, however I might not have the latest bluetooth streaming functionality but at I should be able to answer calls etc.
I then plan to upgrade my rdc510 to a later version or an rns510 perhaps next year. Again I understand the rns 510 can have firmware updates to achieve streaming capability but I think this might complicate the Bluetooth install with the voice control feature but shouldn't be too bad.
Any reccomendations/links welcomed.
Cheers
