Re: Spark Plugs on 1.4TSI 160HP
Update: I've been running for almost 3000K with 7EIX and it seems that the problems are gone. No hesitations though I'm wondering if the fuel consumption is slightly higher or the smooth engine got me a bit more eager. The gap is too small to know for sure. I guess time will tell. Thanks a lot for y...

Re: Spark Plugs on 1.4TSI 160HP
The problems started only after the plug change at 60k. Actually at 63 to be precise.
I guess i was running with 0.8 as originals from 2009 with no problems and the new ones were 0.9 and that`s when the problems started.
This info is very helpful, I`ll give it a try.
Thanks

Re: Spark Plugs on 1.4TSI 160HP
Hi, Sorry to bring this post from the dead but I'm experiencing similar problems and I need some advice. I've been having my 1.4 160 for more than three years and 67,000 Km 2.5 years ago I've installed REVO stage 1 with 18,000 Km on. On 60,000 service the spark plugs were replaced and on 63,000 Km i...

Re: MAX SPEED
155 is electronically limited.
No doubt it can make it.
Interesting question would be the top speed without the limiter :-)

Re: MAX SPEED
That's right, you'll find many here have experienced a remap on a 1.4.
As for the fuel consumption, it's worse only when you use the extra juice.
When I drive calmly it stays the same as before.

Re: MAX SPEED
I hit 150mph (240 Km/h) on an empty stretch of highway but then it wasn't so empty anymore
I drive a REVO remapped 1.4 and I reckon it should hit a similar MAX speed as the 2.0L.
If I had to guess, I would say 250Km/h is a fairly reasonable target.

Re: Typical Faults of a Scirocco
I get to here the tailgate rattle on nasty bumps when the stereo is not too loud. Since my remap the squeak frequency has increased, the water pump theory seems weird to me. It happens when the supercharger gets into action. I'm not even sure both are placed on the utility belt. Usually the water pu...

Re: Track listing on the RCD 510 unit
Thank you. Sounds excellent! I think I'll buy Media-IN. Maybe one more thing worth a try before you buy: I have discovered that if I give up the directory structure and drop all the files directly into the root directory it starts playing much faster. I have 16G worth of files in there and it takes...

Re: HOW TO: Install Cruise Control
This detailed and well explained "how to" makes me want to go ahead and give it a try.
However, is it true that for my manual gear box I would need an additional module?
Something that has to do with the clutch pedal, maybe?

Re: Dynaudio...Worth it...??
A store bought CD will sound better than the iPod, i'm not sure because i don't own an iPod, but i imagine it's more compressed (has less dynamics) like an MP3. It's usually quite easy to hear the difference between a CD and an MP3. It all depends on the ripping quality and the compression ratio. W...

Re: Dynaudio...Worth it...??
I have the standard sound system and I have added a 12" Kenwood Sub + a Kenwood Amp. I think it compensates very well for the lack of decent low range in the small but otherwise good speakers of the original sound system. I'm very satisfied with the results and I've had very good responses from...

Re: Remote sunroof/windows?
Hey I have the German spec "Sport" 1.4 TSI. It didn't come with a factory alarm and I installed a canbus compatible one, which works great, and I have the remote windows feature. I got it installed at the dealer before picking up the car so not sure if it's there by default... I second th...

Re: DSG TYPE ON 2.0 TSI?
I know it's fantastic. I had my test drive before I bought my manual and it is gr8. I have also driven A3 with TFSI and DQ250 in the past. But my choice was relatively easy; for the DSG there was a waiting list of more than 3 months :eyepop: ... and of course there's the cost issue :p I was under pr...

Does that mean DQ200 is the one fitted to the rocco's 1.4 TSI?
