Re: UKtom's Candy White OEM+
How did you get the indicators in the DRL? I thought that was the sticking point for most people converting their front end without xenons?

Re: Checked your tailgate lately?
If its anything like the Golfs you'll have a 12 year corrosion warranty, 100's of people have had their front wings replaced/repaired because of rust issues on the MK5.

Re: Scirocco DSG or Manual
I've always had manual up until my most recent car (my first Scirocco) I bought a 170 TDI with DSG and its brilliant, I rarely use the paddles to be honest because the automatic box is so good (for my daily drive).

Re: Parts stolen from my car
Absolutely gutting for you mate, however I guess it could have been worse, I remember seeing photos of a MK5 GTI that looked like it had been in a breakers yard rather than a weekend at a train station car park.

Not normally a fan of colour coded badges but it works really well against the carbon.

Re: Lukes scirocco R
It was a superb build, shame it ended as it did, are the insurers letting you strip the goodies off or have you got to start from scratch?

Re: Rising Blue 140
If you end up going with Tally's make sure you double check the offset, as far as I'm aware there are 2 different offsets (one for the golf the other for the Rocco). If you end up with the wrong one it could make the wheels look a little odd.
Personally I would go with 19's.

Top job on the grill, I'm about to start a T5 mod (once I find a donor grill) and I'll be using your guide thread a lot!

Re: Service
I'm in a similar position except I bought my car from VW and as it strands it has FVWSH along with about another 5 months of warranty. I think this time I'm going to have to take it to VW and get it serviced and then consider using an independent when the warranty is up.

Re: Paranoid
The way I see it, VW employ 1000's of people every day who make parts for us to break, if someone damages my car they pay for it to be sorted and I get on with life. Unfortunately all you can do is try to reduce the chances of the minor things happening (door dings etc). My Girlfriend always moans b...

Re: Irritating DSG
Thanks chaps..... looks like I'll have to live with it then ! I would much rather have a smoother drive though and lose 5mpg, than a drive that seems like it struggling...... Apart from that, I absolutely love the car.... Maybe try talking to Rev/APR, they do DSG gearbox remaps with their own softw...

Re: Hello from me & a few Q's!!
Hi, the car looks great, VW have a 12 year corrosion warranty, take it to them and they'll take paint depth readings etc to make sure its genuine paint (i.e. it hasn't been hit/patched before) and if it is then they should repair the rust free of charge (if you kick up enough fuss). They've had to d...

Re: Irritating DSG
Mine is the same although it doesn't really bother me, it seems to tick over quite nicely even when its in 6th at 40+mph but as soon as I want to put my foot down the gear changes are so quick it doesn't really matter, also I guess the wonderful people at VW must have put a lot of testing into which...

Sold my old BBS CH's so now I'm on the scout out for new wheels, why does it seem all the nice sets of wheels on Gumtree are either in Scotland or Ireland? ![Frown :(](./images/smilies/frown.gif)
