Re: Scirocco worth keeping?

Well get it all done on warranty before it runs out... Then everything will be good as new. Or get at extended warranty, they aren't expensive for peace of mind.

Re: Non genuine anti-freeze

Blue won't do the car any harm, blue is usually a 2 year coolant (needs changing after two years) where as pink is 5 years. I wouldn't worry about warrenty if you bought as approved used. They are supposed to do like a 200 point check before they sell to you, so make sure it's documented, although I...

Interlagos alternatives?

I find it VERY rare that manufacturers get a wheel so right. The interlagos suit the Scirocco down to the ground IMO.

Out of curiosity, are there any others wheels you think look as good on the Scirocco?

I like to use Amphibian repellant to avoid those pesky "Toll Toads" ;)

Explain? Why is gloss black more costly than another black?

Sounds like you but with a bit of info behind it.

Not going to pretend to know what a clock spring is though, but it does sound like yours might be broken

Tried turning it off and on again?

Failing that, a fuse?

Re: Good deal or not

Well we don't know what you paid, but by the sounds of it you got the car you wanted for the price you wanted and then got a few hundred quids worth of servicing on top of that...

What's to complain about!?

EDIT: oh sorry, didn't realised you had paid for the servicing...

Re: Which rocco?

DPF removal is an MOT failure if the car was fitted with one from factory. It would suggest doing the sums on different models. That way you can work out rough running costs each year for each model. And I would still suggest you don't exclude the 160. Consider: Fuel - work out your annual mileage, ...

Re: Which rocco?

That trip to Sheffield will cost you about £4 more in the petrol, which don't get me wrong, is nothing to be sniffed at. But when you consider the fact you will pay more to buy the derv, and the hassle you will have because you are jacking up the DPF by using it for 3 mile journeys, it's a no braine...

Re: Which rocco?

3 miles a day in a diesel? What? IMO that makes no sense. On the MPG front people seen to get 35 on a good motorway run out of a 2.0 tsi and mid 20s knocking around town. But someone else who owns one will be able to say better. Have you thought about a 1.4 160 petrol? They are almost identically as...

Not so much you would notice. In theory firming up the suspension will improve it, but for such a tiny difference you really won't notice.

Re: Those pesky 160 issues

In that case just make sure you have a decent warranty over the said years and you should be ok Okay, let me back peddle a bit. Does anyone know if you can take out a VW extended warrenty, even if the car has had a spell out of warrenty? So for instance, if I bought a 2010 model, so out of warrenty...

Re: Rocco Security

Aren't most cars these days stolen with the keys (keys stolen, followed by the car) and therefore if you are like any other normal person the bollard key will be with the car key, or close. SO maybe not that much more secure?

Take a vital fuse with you when you park up, much cheaper.
