I can understand that the oil works better when at it's operating temperature and driving helps speed up that increase in temperature. But you should still wait at least 20 seconds just to let the oil begin to circulate round the engine, other wise you increase the rate of wear on startup

I've managed 52mpg from my 2.0TSi. But it can be annoying when trucks are overtaking you :/
