Re: So what does a Scirocco owner do for a living then?

I'm an aircraft mechanic. I served 11 years in the US Air Force...10 of those years in Spangdahlem, Germany on Block 50 F-16 fighters and A-10 ground attack aircraft. Afterwards, I worked for 3.5 years in Bodo, Norway for the Royal Norwegian Air Force(RNoAF) on their F-16's and now I am currently em...

Re: Central Locking

Thanks for that video RW1...that is pretty sweet unbelievably easy! :D The locking mechanism went out in my hatch a while back and after a lot of hunting, I found the manual release for it...was a pain in the rear to get to though. After that, I figured the doors would probably have a manual release...

Re: Central Locking

Thanks Cuprabob! I was always wondering that myself! Unfortunately my manual is German but luckily my German's starting to come along pretty well so I am able to make out most things in it now ;)

Re: my scirocco gt170

Love your Rocco dude! I have one in Reflex Silver and I love it but I would prefer it to be Pewter Grey like yours.

Does anyone know if the R is available in Pewter Grey as well? :?

Re: Cars you have owned before getting a Rocco??

Well, my first car was a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais back when I lived in the States...nothing special & I can't find any photos of it. Once I moved to Germany in 1995, I fell in love with BMW's and owned two e30's & an e36 before buying my Rocco. I had a 1986 320i, a 1987 325i, & a 1...

Re: My baby Emma...

That's pretty cool man and I see you drive a Scirocco just like mine, same color & all...sweet! The only Scirocco I ever saw in Norway was up by Vestvatn when I went snowboarding up there. There was a dark gray one in one of the small villages along the way ;) Just out of curiousity man, what di...

Re: Heaters fit for winter

Yeah, they are pretty lacking my my car as well. I took a trip up to Norway last year and going through Sweden I was in -20 to -25 degree Celcius weather at times and when I would have to make a rest stop, the soles of my boots would freeze while outside. The heaters did absolutley nothing for me un...

All I could do was dream about mine as I'm in Saudi and she's still in Germany :( I'll get to see her in February though when I go back for my mid-tour :D

Hey that's cool! I started in August 2008 working Hangar 7 and then later in Hangar A once they finished laying down the new floor. Anyway, here's a photo of me (left) & my buddy Janink sitting on top of a mountain with Bodo in the background. It's a small world man! :D http://i241.photobucket.c...

Re: Flat spotted the tyres...?

I'm not an expert but I've never had either a flat spot problem or my brakes lock up on me and I've been in some pretty hariy situations on the autobahn driving at top speed with my hair on fire! There have been several times that I have had my Roc doing 220-230 kmh and some idiot changed lanes in f...

Re: My baby Emma...

I thought it looked pretty sweet like that too! I was working for the RNoAF as an F-16 Tecnician on the airbase there for three & a half years...now I work for the RSAF (Royal Saudi Air Force) on the GE engines for their F-15's here in Saudi Arabia. Except for the money, I would MUCH rather be w...

Re: My baby Emma...

Something I have been seriously considering as a mod to my Rocco is shaving the door handles. I have yet to see a Rocco with that done to it. Has anyone else seen that done by chance? I took the liberty of taking a photo off the net & modding it via MS Paint to give you all an idea of what I mea...

My baby Emma...

Hey all, Im an American living in Germany and I bought my Scirocco (1.4 TSI / 160P.S.) two years ago. I'm currently working in Saudi Arabia until next year while my baby girl is back home with a trusted friend taking care of her. She was slightly used when I got her (21K km) but she had already been...
