Re: Winter 'tyre hotels'
Hello I see a lot of people in the UK are thinking about getting winter tyre`s. Normally here in Switzerland we get tyre`s with a smaller cross section and smaller rim size. The idea is that there is more pressure on the road / snow surface which is better grip and the bigger height will save your r...

Re: Xenon - Auto Leveling lights
Hello Bianco Thanks for the input perhaps what you say could be the case. Could this perhaps be a manufacturing fault oh the housing? I suppose I could ask the dealer to show me a correctly alined/Installed xenon so that I can compare. Perhaps I will take a photo of the beam shape on a wall and see ...

Xenon - Auto Leveling lights
Evening all, Hope you are all well. I have a question about the xenon lights fitted on the Scirocco. I decided to take the car into the dealers here in Switzerland where I live. I did this as I was driving a friends car with normal halogen headlights and found that they lit up the right hand side of...

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
I don't think that there is a problem with filling it up to the brim. I have done this on all my cars. Perhaps in a hot climate it could over flow if you filled it up when it was really cold outside. But as I fill it up and then drive the fuel is being used. I suppose from reading the posts here tha...

Re: Fiscon and displayed signal strength
Hello I don't think there is a problem with you unit. Mine seems to do the same when there is a couple of bars on the phone the RNS is showing full signal. It also does not seem to update the network name when my phone changes to a different network. I live in Switzerland and so I am driving to Fran...

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
By filling it really slowly :) Seriously the pump will auto stop at around 53 or 55 liters. Then from there I slowly fill it up to the top. Basically you are filling up the airlock within the tank. Recently there was a Golf TDI which ran from Zimbabwe to Cape Town on 1 tank of fuel 1900km odd. http:...

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
Morning all I have just been reading this thread and thought I would put my two cents in. Normally I hate going to the petrol station so i fill up right to the top and run it low. That and have competitions with my friends to see how much we can squeeze out of one tank. So normally I am 63 liters to...

Re: Winter Tyres
Hi All Seems like a lot of thought has gone in to everyones winter driving and the Scirocco. So I was at the VW shop here in Switzerland yesterday and have finally made the decision to go with Continental T830's 205/55/16. There is a huge premium on VW branded rims so have gone with a dealer aproved...

Re: Winter Tyres

Instrument Cluster
Hey everyone Have any of you noticed that if you have the lights off and your in a dark area like an underground car park that the dials on the instrument cluster just have the red needles showing. The car needs to be either turned on or in the accessory mode (When the dash lights). Then if you driv...

Technical Issue with Scirocco Apparently
Hey how are you all doing? So here is the story ordered the car 21 March 09 and meant to take delivery 1st July 09, this was pushed back a couple of weeks due my slot at the factory being bumped down. Acceptable. So I am still waiting for my car which was in Zurich last week Wednesday 8th July. So I...

Re: Service Package?
wow you guys have it hard you have to buy a service package as an extra, in switzerland Vw include 10years or 100 000km in the price mind you have have to pay for oil which i think is pretty standard. Then again the scirocco is more expensive here with a slightly lower spec.
