Fiscon and displayed signal strength

Post by alanstead »

Hi, I have recently fitted the fiscon basic plus to my Roc and and generally very pleased with it. I fitted it with the proper interior light microphone and the sound quality is perfect despite some people saying otherwise. Anyway, one problem is, when you have no phone signal, which, where I live is a common problem, instead of the unit displaying no signal on the RCD510 screen, it shows full signal and the network provider instead where as the phone is correctly showing no signal or network provider. Its a bit annoying because you go to phone someone and the units showing full signal when there is no signal at all. On one bar to a proper full signal the unit works great and shows exactly what the phone shows. I've tried 3 different phones and 2 different networks and they all do the same. Problem with my unit maybe?

Hello

I don't think there is a problem with you unit. Mine seems to do the same when there is a couple of bars on the phone the RNS is showing full signal. It also does not seem to update the network name when my phone changes to a different network. I live in Switzerland and so I am driving to France and Germany. The phone changes the network provider but the display still shows my home country network Swisscom.

I use and iPhone 4
