DSG oil change DIY

Post by BAIKAR »

Has anyone changed the oil rather than pay a dealer to do it. Ive found some links on other websites audi/seat etc reference this but wanted to know if any vw/scirocco owners have haf a go and saved some money?

I would say it's a risk. It's not uncommon for mechatronic units to fail and they cost over £1,500 to replace and VW will not honour any warranty or goodwill on the DSG box if the oil and filter are not replaced every 40k miles.

It's your choice obviously but something to be aware of considering VW charge £169 or a DSG oil and filter change at the moment. Most of that cost is the oil.
