Bluetooth Handsfree Retrofit

Post by nubbin62 »

I bought the Scirocco 2.0 TSI in December and didnt get the bluetooth fitted to the system. I obviosuly have the "Phone" button next to the touchscreen but it doesn't do anything. I obviously need to get the system fitted but VW say that I need another touchscreen added into the car for the phone to work. Is this the only way of doing it? I'd rather just get the system put in on my original system without adding anything external. Can anyone shed any light on this. I've seen parts like this (below link) but don't know if this would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi nubbin

most bluetooth retrofits such as the parrot system require a separate screen to use them (the factory fit bluetooth does not actually work as conventional bluetooth but rsap [search the archives & you'll see it only works with limited phones]) Fiscon (click) can be connected & the only visual clue is a small microphone at the edge of the headlining.

See if that suits your requirements

Thanks for your help. In other words; it's worth going to an independant company rather than VW who won't fit the actual Factory fit. It says that the Fiscon one works with most Bluetooth phones so hopefully it will work with an iPhone. Am I better off just calling these guys? I just want the system to look clean and work properly.

Thanks again

it definitely looks clean as there are no additional screens like most other systems

it does work with the iphone although some people have found with the 3gs the phone function occassionally fights with the music function but this may have been resolved by now.

give Rich or Neil a shout at Richter Sport (the UK Fiscon distributor) & say you've seen them from here & they will be able answer any questions you have with the specific system

Apparently rSAP isn't supported on the iphones. How is the factory fit bluetooth working on my friends new Scirocco R with his iphone? I'm very confused. Any help?

no its not supported so it won't be, he may have had the 'VW' (rebranded Bury) system fitted as a retrofit after delivery or added the skoda bluetooth module to the factory fit system or he may have had Fiscon installed, but it will not be the rsap system as it comes out of the factory working with the iphone.

I suggest you ask him which he did.
