TDI 140 gearbox replacement

2.0 TDI gearbox replacement
Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on a gearbox replacement for my scirocco, it’s a 2012 blue motion TDI 140, engine code is CFHC and the gearbox code is NFU,I can’t seem to find a decent replacement but I’ve offered a KRM code gearbox from a TDI 140,I’m trying find out if this would fit. Thank you... :) :)

The trouble with these gearboxes is they use the same casing across different boxes so they may physically fit but the internals can be very different in terms of ratios / Speedo setup etc.
Although the Scirocco was fitted with both of these gearboxes one is a stop start gearbox and one is not.
I’m not sure if this would make a difference, I do know they have different types of starter motors and batteries but what I don’t know is anything else is different, I’m pretty sure the flywheel is different as well.
If you have the registration of the donor gearbox car you could possibly check if items such as starter motor, driveshafts, clutch, flywheel etc match your own car.
Personally I’d stick to what’s on there to be sure as there is too many variables, although if you have the gearbox already and you are doing the work yourself it may be worth a try but if you are paying to have the work done it’s a very labour intensive job and the costs to have to do it twice are far too high.
Hope this helps 😊
