Intake Manifold Fault P2015, Injectors stuck open?

Post by Tomeyrick »

Hi All,
A couple months ago I had a misfire on cylinder 1 and proved it was the coil pack failing so I changed it. A week later cylinder 2 had a misfire so I changed the other 3 coil packs and the spark plugs, ran great for a while so I got it mapped stage 1 a couple weeks ago. A day after the map I had a check engine light which gave a code of P2015 intake manifold I did research and found this is a common problem and the manifolds of a 2009 2.0 TSI. So I ordered a new one last week from AUTODOC.

Yesterday my car broke down and in a very strange way. RAC were baffled. Drove fine for about 30 mile and all of a sudden the EPC light comes up and the car starts juddering with loss of power and white smoke. Stopped down the road and big pool of fuel was left under the car with I burned fuel out the exhaust. Wouldn’t start after I turned it off and would only start with easy start sprayed in the breather pipe directly into the intake. As I was already changing the intake/inlet manifold I had planned on changing the injectors but will this resolve my issue? Have seen lots of problems similar but not quite explained the same. Hope I explained in a way to understand

TIA
Tom

Continuation…

Would a fault on the inlet manifold cause an injector to be stuck open? Is there anyway to tell when I’ve got the injectors out that they have caused the problem I’ve got? Is there anything else I should look for? I know that I have fuel up to the High Pressure Pump but unsure how to test HPP?
The timing sounds OK but unsure if it’s jumped, would this cause white smoke and misfire?
It’s spitting so much fuel out the exhaust I can’t even drive it right now 😂
Hopefully this points to something to someone
Thanks for any help 😁

Update…

Replaced all 4 injectors and replaced the manifold with the updated version along with a new gasket. Watched some wicked, well explained videos on YouTube and did it at home. You need a good range of tools and some technical ability but definitely possible solo.
Have driven it about 300 miles after install and had no further faults.
When you first run it, it’ll probably smoke at first but it’s just clearing what was in the CAT historically.
Defiantly worth noting that if you had the same problem as me, fuel has probably contaminated the oil and a refresh with filter is needed.
Hope this helps someone, will answer any questions as best I can.
