DPF Regen and other problems 2.0 TDI...

Post by Sandro99 »

Hey everyone, new here in the forum, Portuguese but living in France

I own a 2010 Scirocco 2.0 TDI 140 CBDB since November 2018, and after 3 years of constant problems and various parts replacements i still have some problems with it and i hope someone knows a little more about it. The car currently has 209 000km (130 000 miles ) and i bought it with 150 000km ( 93 000 miles )
The current problems that i have are as follows: DPF Regen every 380-420km (236-240 miles) which i think is way too often maybe i'm wrong, and while the regen is happening the idle goes to 1000rpm which is normal however it produces a lot of white thick smoke, it only smokes when i'm accelerating and on low rpm on a gear, so for example when i put first and accelerate it only comes out in the beggining of acceleration, i go to second and again until about 2000 rpm, when rpm is high on gear it doesnt smoke. If i'm in fourth gear and at a low speed and rpm if i accelerate, there's a huge cloud of white thick smoke, but if i'm in fourth gear and at a higher speed and rpm, no smoke... So the conclusion is that it only smokes when the turbo is boosting once the turbo kicks in and rpm is higher, no smoke... I also hear air whistling in the engine everytime i release the throttle, which i guess is a vacuum hose, only happens while doing DPF Regen...
Every mechanic that i went tells me there's no problem with that and that it's normal, but huge clouds of white thick smoke are never normal even in a DFP Regen.
Another problem that i have is often rough idle, it stays at normal 800rpm but the whole car vibrates, it kinda feels the engine has hiccups, it happens rarely but still don't know what it is...

Parts that i changed over the time : -Timing belt kit with water pump - 152 000km (94 000 miles)
- Mass air flow sensor - 162 000km (100 000 miles)
- Turbo - 162 000km (100 000 miles)
- Clutch - 186 000km (115 000 miles)
- Intake Manifold - 191 000km (119 000 miles)

I change my oil around every 13 000km (8000 miles)

Check your dpf pressure differential and ash level, check your injectors and pressure test your air hoses.
