Vaccum issue

My car has been sat for some time with a hard break pedal issue. Today I've been well enough to investigate. All my pipes are in good order with no breaks or splits. I removed them one by one and tested with air and all were good. While the engine was running I removed the pipe to the servo and found no vaccum at what I now know is the vacuum pump. I can't find anything online via Google or on here regarding them failing. They are not cheap to buy and find I'm wrong so I'm wondering if anyone has had a failed one. Before I buy a new one can you get a service kit.
