Check engine light on after Battery replacement

Post by DarrenDe »

Hi, I have a 2014 scirocco and today my battery went dead and did a replacement of it , Now Iv got some lights on the dashboard .

one of them was the esp but went away after driving the car for a bit

The 2nd one is the check engine light , this one is still there , Any ideas what can it be ?

Before the battery replacement I never had any dash lights on

You could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to see if it resets, otherwise you'll need to scan it for the code that is triggering it.

Normally when the battery is replaced the lights that remain on are the ESP, and steering, which go out after a short drive once the steering angle sensor calibrates.
