Loss of drive

Post by matmcn »

Evening all and thank you for letting me join the community.

I have owned my 1.4 tsi scirocco now for 2 months and not having much luck. Water pump went 2 weeks after I bought it and earlier this week while driving into work I completely lost all drive from the DSG gearbox.

I was pootling along at about 40mph went over a slight crest and then while going down the other side I noticed that the D letter on the dash showing what gear its in started flashing on and off. I wasnt accelerating as going down hill however when I put my foot down on the accelerator there was no drive. I managed to pull of the road, put the car into Park, back into drive but nothing. I have no drive in Reverse, Drive or Sport. I turned the ignition off for a few minutes and now when I start the car without touching the gear stick, after about 20 seconds the P letter starts flashing alternitively with a spanner. Still no drive in any gear.

What I have noticed is that when I turn the engine off, there sounds like a motor running from within the mechatronics box but I dont know how long it goes on for. I have plugged my basic diagnostic reader in but get no codes. I then got a friend down with his mid market reader and still no codes. It is not blowing any fuses and I see no signs of oil/ATF leaks on the box. Now the weekend is here I will pull the battery and the air box out to get a better look.

Has anyone had this issue before and can point me in a direction to start before I pull the mechatronics unit off.

I'm currently based in Cyprus if theres anyone with VAGCOM that is free to hook up and try for a different fault reader.

TIA

Mat
