Stuck Hub Nut

Post by OllieW »

Hello all!

Sorry if this in the wrong section. Looking for advice please! I’m trying to lower my scirocco but I can’t get the clearance between the driveshaft and anti roll bar to release the strut from the knuckle on both sides so thought take the hub nut off and slide driveshaft out. The passenger one was loosened fairly easy but the drivers side is causing me no end of problems. I just cannot get the thing free. It’s had about 2 weeks of wd40 and I’ve heated it up today with a blow lamp and slid a 6 ft box section over the breaker bar but it’s still not shifting :(. Any advice on loosening it or ways around it please please please?

Thanks
Ollie

It’s also easier to disconnect the three nuts from the ball joint. You get all the movement you need to remove the strut.
