Hybrid Turbo
Being on the Mini forums ive seen that the KO3 turbos can be refitted with larger impellers. Ive not heard of anyone doing this on Roc/Golf Rs. Is there little room to fit a bigger turbine or can say a RS6 turbine be fitted? Ive noticed this is quite cost effective compared to a new turbo kit.

Re: Hybrid Turbo
The Scirocco R is Ea113 engine. Usually CDL but may be others.
They come with K04-064 turbo.
There are plenty of hybrid units out there but not many are any good. The best is TTE420 which is around £1620 as a direct purchase or around £1300 as an exchange (send them a good turbo).
These engines are tuned by lots of people so you must be looking in the wrong places. spend 5 minutes on TFSI Tuning FB group you will see that.
Spend some time on the FB group looking around.
If it was me I would go stage 2+ spec with a TTE420 turbo and r-tech mapping, if i wanted the hybrid route. it's probably the best turbo giving nice torque kick and smooth top end power and good reliability.
some others have been done but not as good in terms of out-right figures. and unknown reliability.
in an ideal world you will also get upgraded rods put in as often maps are rod limited.
lowering compression may help (pretty easy these engines have lots of parts available) but better off getting a spec list from niki at r-tech.
