Hi
Looking at doing this myself, I was looking at the BCS downpipe at around£650 I've heard great reviews on their products
Do you know if you have to have a remap straight away after installing it as I believe the EML will come on ?

Thanks for that Tommy was thinking of fitting it myself and wasn't sure as most of comments about downpipes suggest a stage 2 remap
Cheers

It's definitely louder but not too loud and no pops and bangs like you get on other cars...

My exhaust was installed in two stages... financial reason [emoji28]

BCS catback was installed first in xmas last year and it just made it louder...

Then I installed the downpipe last week, it gives a deep, throaty growl noise when in low rev... Sometimes it does the DSG farts when you have your foot down in country roads [emoji16] https://vimeo.com/170355169

I haven't managed to record the sound properly when driving (only from the car cam). Ideally I would like to stick the gopro on at the back of the car at some point but afraid of the suction mount not strong enough... Any recommendations on suction mount guys? Cheers.

Yer I heard some ppl say the ecu light will come on when a sport cat is installed but when I spoke to Nigel from BCS previously he said it shouldn't. And so far I have not come across any problem yet... Touch wood* :D

I spoke too soon mate... the Emission Control / Engine Management Lamp came on this morning driving to work :grumpy: I will need to get it checked out to confirm if it is the O2 sensor. I just thought it's abit odd the warning light comes on now when I have driven for 800 miles already since the installation of the sport cat... Let's hope it is O2 sensor anyway and not other problem!

I am gonna get this lambda O2 oxygen sensor exhaust boss to see if it will solve the problem... (to be honest I am not sure how it is possible  but people on other forums said it works) if not... stage 2 here we come :faint:

Anyways, could someone please tell me if the warning light will come off automatically if the O2 sensor is seeing correct value again? or if I need to clear the fault manually?

It should go off automatically. But the garage should clear the fault anyway.

The spacer didn't work, went and get the light deleted by a garage (did not take long at all!) and got a remap done there too! :)

What stage map did you have?

Yes mate, very happy with the figures. It was not my intention to remap to be honest, but Simon from Ecotech talked me into it and I'm glad I did.
I found out I already had bluefin superchip on my car... Had a bit of a problem removing the bluefin and ended up pulling the ecu out... Anyways got there at the end

With that on the dyno, it pulled 233bhp and 352Nm. After the remap, it pulled 270bhp and 418Nm. I have to say it accelerates a lot harder and a few wheel spins on the way home... :D

Image

The guy at the garage showed me the loss of boost/power on the bluefin curve between 3-5k rpm which was interesting, I told him I noticed it when driving but I thought it was just the lag from the turbo/DSG. I have never had a turbo car before... it was not a full stage 2 as I don't have an uprated intercooler.

Great figures mate 270 bhp is plenty for 2wd, I suppose you'll be investing in some new fronts soon!:)

i'm confused with this one.

You say you have a Rocco R

Graph states TSI?

You had a stage one map and made 270bbhp?

somethings amiss here.
