Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
My dealer is in same position. Had a couple of cancelled orders due to people being made redundant.
They've got a Candy White, Manual, winter Pack, Black Leather, Parking Sensors. Also a Candy White, DSG, Truffle Leather, Pano Roof.
Also got a Black and a Silver.
Sign of the times.

The VW approved used section has loads on it. Basically all the dealer demos.

Yap, almost 70 of them!Kev wrote:The VW approved used section has loads on it. Basically all the dealer demos.
Makes you wonder why anyone would order one now and wait for weeks on end for it when they are all these available.
I hope they sell, and these dealers don't just drop the prices to get rid of them, and devaluate our cars!!!
Some of the car mag's (and Glass I think) recon a retained value of 58% over 3 years!
That ain’t going to happen if they cant even sell these demos.
Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
dealers are also being forced to order stock from vw without firm orders, we'll see when anything is new and popular some people cannot wait and will take compromise specs etc, we you get thumbs up from a chap in a db9 on the motorway vw must have got it right

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
I know why I'm prepared to wait. Have you seen the prices on these USED cars! There are cars with less spec costing much more than I'm paying. And at that sort of money i'd expect it new and to my spec.

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
For the sake of a few months.. I want exactly my spec.
Or if I compromise, I'd expect a considerable saving.
Also, any demo with a 1000 miles on it is likely to have been less than cherished (I know what I do to demos

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
Very true, however in my case the "demo" I bought hadn't been shipped over, so when I drove off with it, it had 12 miles on the clock.morrissey wrote:For the sake of a few months.. I want exactly my spec.

Matched exactly my spec apart from Xenons and Sat Nav, ended up being 2 grand cheaper and bizarrely that same spec in the VW configuration costs £250 more!!
I am over the moon with it, got it in 2 weeks instead of an agonising 7 month wait, I'm considering the mud flaps, the White has kept clean all over the car apart from the area around the tyre spray.
My dealer quoted me £70 to fit the mud flaps! - that’s not including them.

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
Don't pay a dealer to fit mudflaps - they are easy to do yourself.
I've done them on several Audis.
The front ones are easy as you can turn the wheels.
You may need to take the back wheels off to do the rear ones, but that's not too difficult.

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
Cool thanks for that
Yeah the freaking fitting is costing more than the flaps, it may sound unnecessary for the flaps but I've kept the car very clean but the area around the tyre is very dirty and I think small investment in some mud flaps will stop that.

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
Yeah I could wash the car but I'd have to wash it after every time I've been out, it rained all weekend here - just so annoying!
It'll be fine in the summer (if we get one)

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
Fitted the mud flaps myself today, the rear ones I managed to get on without taking the tyres off, but the front ones need the tyres off when fitting.
I was lucky as my mate got me into a car garage where we put it up on the ramp therefore we were able to do the job properly and easily, those doing it at home well I think it will be very difficult with the jack and so close to the ground etc
In hindsight I would have taken the rears off as well, but since it was high up it didn't really matter in the end.
It's roughly an hour’s job to do both front and rear and it would help if you had an extra pair of hands.
They come with installation papers; I can scan them and post them online - only if anyone wants to see them?
Saved around £100+ by not getting them fitted and did a spotless perfect job.
I've spent too much on extras since I got my car and last thing I wanted to do was spend more money this month especially if it was on someone to fit so a special thanks to those who suggested I do it myself

I'd be interested in seeing some decent pics of the mudflaps too. Cheers!

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
The instructions for the front ones were on two pages, while the rear fitted on one side, I have scanned them into one high quality document [5.75MB].
Link to PDF: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mmnlku towards the bottom of the page there will be a link thats says
"Download Link: Mudflaps Front and Rear.pdf", I have done it this way rather than providing the link directly as I will be able to monitor how many people download the PDF.
Pages 1 and 2 are for the front whilst page 3 is for the rear.

I'll try and take pics from distance if I get the chance, if you want to see larger images of those above then go here...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/94745586@N00/
PS Kev I couldn't upload a PDF attachment, wouldn't allow me, however it's probably just as well as the 5.75MB PDF would take up a lot of bandwidth with people downloading it.

Re: Scirocco's for SALE!!!
They look pretty inconspicuous on my car as everything is White with a Black trim so they really don't look out of place, if you saw the larger images on flickr you will have noticed the spray marks - they happened before I fitted the mud flaps so I'll give feedback on them this week - if they do in fact make a difference.
I've now gone over 1000 miles (got it with 12 miles on the clock) I must say it's a joy to drive and love it to bits, my mates saw it for the first time yesterday and they were amazed by it.
Note: When using the ACC in Sport mode I've noticed it uses a lot more fuel, so for those guys in Greece etc where the ACC is an optional extra, I don't think it would be worth it (spend that money on Dynaudio or Folding Mirrors etc), as most of the time now I drive it in Normal and even that is pretty stiff.

Nice one rehmondo, looks easy enough.
