Re: What's everyone's thoughts on which product to use?
Hi bradderz and welcome,
Lots of thoughts and opinions on this one .
I started out with auto finesse and then started trying other products ( not because I wasn't happy with them or anything , more a case of I'm a sucker for new things ) , if I'm honest I feel different company's have there better products which is how my bag of cleaning goodies has ended up.
It contains a right mixture of auto finesse chemical guys Angelwax and auto bright , although I must admit I'm building up an ever bigger collection of Angelwax really liking there stuff at the moment,

Hi Bradderz this is a very subjective, addictive & expensive hobby your about to get sucked in to, but here at SC you're in good company - right Jack?!
Use what works for you is good but pointless advice if your starting out.
There's plenty to read about over on detailing world and for every two people you'll get three opinions !
Auto Finesse, Chemical Guys, Carlack Sonax PowerMaxxed all make great gear, one thing I've learned is you don't need everything from one manufacturer
I cleaned Walter yesterday using power maxed TFR, CHEMICAL GUYS Shampoo, an incredisponge, a CG waffle drying towel and some power maxed winter protection spray - then this morning because the sun was out and because I could I machined W with some CG black light, sealed him with a coat of CarLack long life, did the sills and wheels with some FinishKare fk1000p hi temp paste and then waxed with some Bouncers magnificent Sherbert Fizz - as you can see a mixed and varied bag but by 'eck he looked cracking for the ten minutes it lasted til the rain came back
Are you sure you want to get involved with all this ............;-)

REPLY TO ALL
Thanks for getting back to me guys, yeah I've had my rocco for around a year and a half now when I first got the car I used to use Autoglym. But I started modifying my car and going to car shows asking what people thought was the best products and that's how I found out about auto finesse, the best thing is ultra glaze if you have a white car the reflections are amazing!!!
To clean the car I normally use their snow foam following from that using a drying towel, after use either glisten or show wax their products are expensive I found compared to others but I personally think it's 100% worth the money. I've never really tried anything else to be honest. I know carbon collective is meant to be quite good but their products are even more expensive!
It seems like everyone uses different products to wash/detail their cars. Has anyone ever had polished alloys? I am currently running BBS RS and the guy who I brought them off has curbed all 4 alloys. They will need refurbing but I don't want to loose the polish effect on the lips..

Depends what you want to achieve and your budget... brand wise I'd go with GTechniq over anything else at the moment.
VW Scirocco GT 170 in shadow blue metallic with vienna leather, cruise control, parking radar, nav, bluetooth and dynaudio sound system. Remapped and shortshift fitted.

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on which product to use?
Personally use a mixture of auto finesse and autoglym for majority of jobs. Only exceptions being meguiars tire shine and the odd splash of poorboys blackhole
Still need to get a detailers kit bag probably the auto finesse one..
any recommendations for polish on aztec gold? ordered some triple to try out so far

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on which product to use?
Yeah very true guys, personally auto finesse is the best products I've used so far think it's the best to work with.
Yeah that's the same as me will I use meguiars for the tyres haha! I have the large crew bag and also the smaller auto finesse bag. I have around 30 products from them starting a collection lol! With regards to the gold I actually have no idea, try the triple like you said, that may be the best bud

Whats the bag like for microfibre/drying towel storage? seems plenty of spaces for bottles but i have the handipuck, drying towel, wash mit etc which i like to keep everything together so i can just run down from the garage with one bag instead of three boxes

The crew bag is the best one its £40 but if you get it at a car show its £25 the storage is great so many pockets for clothes & towels also bottles! Great storage bag! Worth the money!

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on which product to use?
white devil and rockhopper are the expert detailers round here - very ocd those two (in a good way) though philjay and james are pretty hardcore when it comes to cleaning and always have immaculate Rs!! i use a mixture of dodo, chemical guys, auto finesse, auto glym, meguiars and poor boys stuff. as long as you clean it regularly and use quality products and avoid the dreaded sponge it seems to kind of get easier to keep ur roc nice imho. find what works for you and stick with it, layers build up over time.

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on which product to use?
I had my car detailed and ceramic coated in September 2015 using Cquartz
I have used Gtechnique in the past but according to my detailer and several other opinions, Cquartz is the way forward
I had my Porsche Cayman S done in Gtechnique and it beaded beautifully for the 9 months I had it
My Audi S4 Avant was Cquartz and it was the same
My Rocco R, beads tremendously. I recently put on a spray sealant (provided by cquartz) which you are to apply every couple of months and the results are fantastic.
Washing products I use are:
Auto Finesse Snow Foam
Auto Finesse Shampoo
Meguires Last Touch
Orchard Auto Care Satin wheel dressing but changing to Auto Finesse
Autosol for exhaust tips
Black Wow for any trim
Poor Boys Natural Dressing for interior
I have a new ceramic product to try on my wheels which I will report back on, got it from cleanyourcar which seems to have good reviews
