Sat Nav RNS 310-315

[Ignite]

Hi just got my car which is great but the sat nav is a bit of let down to be honest. I've been using my Tom Tom in my other car and found it really good. My issue is the lack of towns and postcodes that appears to be in the memory, its really poor and have had to revert to my Tom Tom on a few occasions. Surely this is a car which is now four weeks old and should be equipped with the most up tot date maps and info?

My questions are:

I'm I missing something?
If not is it possible to upgrade it so it works better?

Views comments guys?

Not sure where on the sticker it says which unit I have the handbook is no help either?

In fact i went through all the codes it just says radio/navigation

Given the Scirocco's is one of the last to be produced as a MY2012 model, it should have full 7 digit/letter post codes capaibility which was introduced in September 2011 on RNS315.

There are however some postcode styles which need special entry method. Which will restrict if not entered correctly as below....

- If the post code is a Town/City single letter, followed by a single number, a space character has to be added where a second number would be to enable full post code entry. ie. Sheffield S2 is S2"space".

- To input as 7 digit, it may be necessary to select "postcode" from the destination entry screen, than use "town".

(- There are also some licensing reasons with the post codes that also cause restrictive use which applies to early pre September 2011 build.)

Its annoying to say the least and also there are some towns that don't show up unlike TOM TOM when you always have a complete list.
