19" Lugano tyre pressures

Post by RJM85 »

Does anyone know the factory pressures for the tyres on the 19" Lugano alloys with 235/35/r19 tyres? Ive looked in the handbook and I can't see the info?

Cheers!

The manual tells you to look behind the fuel filler flap, do you have the sticker there ?, anyway its 38 Psi for a normal load according to my sticker.

Its dependent on model and spec etc i believe as some are heavier than others.

I'd expect the 170ps Diesel at front axle loading of 1080kg to be 38psi???

140PS diesel @ 1050Kg 33psi
170PS diesel @ 1080Kg 35psi.

1.4(160PS) @ 1010Kg 33psi.
2.0TSi @ 1040Kg is 36psi.
2.0 R a@ 1070Kg 38psi

All rear axles on models are 770kg yet the pressure goes up ?????

I'm not going into the maths again as I've just done tyres pressures calculations on a new vehicle at work just before Christmas.

Heres a pic of the chart behind the fuel filler cap! I checked my pressures today for the first time, and every tyre was 24 psi! Not impressed!

Tyre Pressure

Post by lugano »

Can anyone out there clear things up for me as to what is the correct tyre pressure for my car with the 19" lugano's. The fuel cap indicator suggests 42 psi but it also shows images of a full load :? . Normally i drive the car by myself & occasionally i'll have friends in the car at the weekends.

Fuel cap gives a range, accorging to my flap it's 35 all round for normal and 38F and 42R for fully loaded for all standard 4 tyre options .

Looking at my fuel cap it only gives the 42 psi advice, it also gives lesser tyre pressure's but they relate to smaller dia wheels (18"/17" etc)

You're not reading the sticker correctly.

The 4 tyres sizes are all in one box so the half load and full load refers to all the sizes

If you look at the picture a few posts back from the sticker you can see it's quite clear. 4 sizes, 2 loads and corresponding pressures. Below these are the 2 winter tyre sizes on both loads and corresponding pressures.

Just go with what your flap says.

Sorry to bring this up again, i've checked the fuel cap & on mine the tyre pressure is 33psi fronts & 33 psi rears for 2 persons + suitcase, hope this is correct as it seems a bit low even though that is what's stated on the fuel cap. I thought that because mine are 19" then the bottom row was applicable to me.

The 1st left column are all the tyres v the half & full settings when reading the tank flap label.

Although there are minor differences psi/fractions of a bar, here is the table for all (Official)

Engine Power Rating conversion table

Kw --- PS ------ Model

........ TSi ........
90 .... 122 ..... 1.4TSi
118 ... 160 ..... 1.4TSi
147 ... 200 ..... 2.0TSi
155 ... 210 ..... 2.0TSi
188 ... 256 ..... 2.0 R (Australia)
195 ... 265 ..... 2.0 R

........ TDi .........
103 .... 140 .... 2.0TDi
125 .... 170 .... 2.0TDi

Tyre Pressure Table - All Scirocco Models
Scirocco Tyre Pressures.JPG
So tends to agree for TDi's that all wheel sizes have the same tyre pressures no matter wheel & tyre fitment.

Tyre pressure gauges ain't that accurate so any differences of 1 or 2 psi are not worth fiddling over. Check the wear rate and wear pattern trends over time and adjust using solely one tyre pressure gauge.

That's the way I read your sticker too, 33psi all round.

I can understand why you would think the higher pressures would apply as the 19" is the bottom line but I can assure you that is not the case. The pressure apply to all the 4 sizes of tyre.
