Engine lifespan TDI

Post by Aaz »

Just wondering who would buy a tdi Roc with over 60k on the clock.. Also how many miles would you expect to get out of the tdi engines

Thanks

It's only just run in, engine will be good for a few hundred thousand miles if looked after.

Too many people are obsessed about mileage.I would rather buy a car that's had an easy life on the motorway with a high mileage than one that has just ran to the local shops and back every day without getting upto operating temperature.

Engine lifespan TDI

That is what i am thinking. I really could do with a diesel car as my current pertol car is costing so much in fuel.

I hear the tdi engine is very good and quite quiet?

This is my first Diesel and I came from a MK5 R32 and yes it's pretty quiet and refined and if I'm totally honest I miss my R32 much less that I thought I would although that's helped with the 55mpg I'm currently averaging.

Ok thats good, don't want to be listening to a tractor engine all the time. If i was to get a diesel it would be the Roc I would be coming from an Ibiza Cupra TSI. The mpg is a massive hit with me as I need to be spending less than £300 a month on fuel as thats what I am currently doing at the moment. Saving for a deposit for a house so need all the money i can get but still want a nice car

Can't talk for the Roc Tdi yet as mine only has 3k on it but I stil have my PD150 golf with 135k on the clock & that has nothing wrong with it to this day, so with the new tdi engine in the Roc I would say you wil get many a 100,000 if looked after.

Can't comment on the 'Roc but my dad's CC 170 diesel (same unit as the 170 Roc) is quiet as a mouse. Sitting in it you wouldnt think it was a diesel and it don't sound too bad from the outside either :) And for a diesel, it can certainly shift :yummy:

We have the 170 ROC TDI and it is so quiet. :)

It really doesn't sound like the old diesel's did - that tractor sound..... :fall:

And the performance is great. :hyper:

I agree they are so quiet for diesels & sound lovely when accelerating, can also be tweaked up to 205bhp which improves it no end if done by the right people :D

( i have the 170 obviously :D )

The 170 sounds different to the 140, I think it's because of the different cams but whatever it is I think it sounds better.

I've got 65,000 miles on my 170 Tdi Scirocco and had done 167,000 miles in my previous Audi A3 140 Tdi as long as you look after them they will last 250,000 miles with a bit of maintenance
If you see S9 CTC driving around give us a wave I do 40,000 miles a year it gets lonely out there
